COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION
Notification of evidence of formal Qualifications of specialised doctors and general practitioners
(Text with EEA relevance)

Council Directive 93/16/EEC of 5 April 1993 to facilitate the free movement of doctors and the mutual recognition of their diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications (1) and particularly Articles 41 and 42(a) therein as well as Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications (2), as amended by Council Directive 2006/100/EC of 20 November 2006 adapting certain Directives in the field of freedom of movement of persons, by reason of the accession of Bulgaria and Romania (3), and particularly Article 21, paragraph 7 therein foresee that Member States shall notify the Commission of the laws, regulations or administrative provisions they adopt as regards the award of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications in the field covered by this Directive. The Commission shall publish an appropriate notice in the Official Journal of the European Union, listing the names adopted by the Member States for the training qualifications concerned and, where applicable, for the corresponding professional title.
As the Netherlands has notified amendments to designations on the list of designations in Annex B and the list of designations of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications as a general medical practitioner published in accordance with Article 41 of Directive 93/16/EEC as taken over in Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications needs to be modified.
The Annex B of Directive 93/16/EEC as well as Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications for the Netherlands needs to be amended as follows:

Under Annex B of Directive 93/16/EEC and beneath the heading ‘5.1.2. Evidence of formal qualifications of specialised doctors’ of Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC the bodies awarding the qualifications should read:
The list of designations of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications as a general medical practitioner published in accordance with Article 41 of Directive 93/16/EEC as well as the heading ‘5.1.4. Evidence of formal qualifications of general practitioners’ of Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications need to be amended as follows. |

Under the list of designations of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications as a general medical practitioner published in accordance with Article 41 of Directive 93/16/EC and beneath the heading ‘5.1.4. Evidence of formal qualifications of general practitioners’ of Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications the evidence of formal qualifications needs to be amended as follows. The evidence of formal qualifications should read: ‘Certificaat van inschrijving in het register van erkende huisartsen van de Koninklijke Maatschappij tot bevordering der Geneeskunst (Issued by the Huisarts, Verpleeghuisarts en arts voor verstandelijk gehandicapte Registratie Commissie (HVRC)’. |
The relevant tables contained in Annex V of Directive 2005/36/EC shall, therefore, read as follows:
