1. Resumption of session
The sitting opened at 17.00.
2. Approval of Minutes of previous sitting
The Minutes of the previous session were approved.
3. Membership of Parliament
The Irish authorities had notified Parliament that Simon Coveney had been elected to the Irish Parliament.
Under Article 7(2) of the Act concerning the election of representatives of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, Parliament noted that the office in question was incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament and established a vacancy with effect from 11.06.2007.
4. Verification of credentials
On a proposal by the JURI Committee, Parliament validated the mandates of Samuli Pohjamo, with effect from 23.04.2007, and of Cristian Silviu Buşoi and Horia-Victor Toma, with effect from 24.04.2007.

12. Order of business
The next item was the order of business.
The final draft agenda for the sitting of June (PE 389.558/PDOJ) had been distributed. The following changes had been proposed under Rule 132:

Debate on cases of breaches of human rights, democracy and the rule of law (Rule 115):

Parliament agreed to the request by electronic vote (74 in favour, 73 against, 6 abstentions).
The following spoke: Martin Schulz, who disputed the outcome of the vote as several Members' voting machines had not worked, and called for the vote to be taken again, and Hartmut Nassauer, Alejo Vidal-Quadras and Karin Scheele, all on Mr Schulz's remarks.
The President pointed out that the technicians responsible for electronic votes had informed him that there had been a technical problem and that he had therefore decided to take the vote again.
Parliament agreed to the PPE-DE Group's request by electronic vote (127 in favour, 111 against, 4 abstentions).
