On 12 September the Council decided to consult the European Economic and Social Committee, under Article 113 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, on the
Proposal for a Council directive amending Directives 2006/112/EC and 2008/118/EC as regards the French outermost regions and Mayotte in particular
COM(2013) 577 final — 2013/0280 (CNS).
Since the Committee endorses the content of the proposal and feels that it requires no comment on its part, it decided, at its 493rd plenary session, held on 16 and 17 October 2013 (meeting of 16 October 2013), by 149 votes to 3 with 6 abstentions, to issue an opinion endorsing the proposed text.
