    DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

    No 1/2009

    of 5 February 2009

    amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

    THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

    Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

    Whereas:

    (1)

    Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 43/2008 of 25 April 2008 (1).

    (2)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1500/2007 of 18 December 2007 of concerning the authorisation of a new use of 6-phytase EC 3.1.3.26 (Ronozyme) as a feed additive (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (3)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1501/2007 of 18 December 2007 concerning the authorisation of a new use of endo-1,4-beta-xylanase EC 3.2.1.8 (Safizym X) as a feed additive (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (4)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1519/2007 of 19 December 2007 amending Regulations (EC) No 2430/1999, (EC) No 418/2001 and (EC) No 162/2003 as regards the terms of the authorisation of certain additives in feedingstuffs belonging to the group of coccidiostats and other medicinal substances (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (5)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1520/2007 of 19 December 2007 concerning the permanent authorisation of certain additives in feedingstuffs (5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (6)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1521/2007 of 19 December 2007 concerning the authorisation of a new use of Enterococcus faecium DSM 7134 (Bonvital) as a feed additive (6) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (7)

    This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

    HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

    Article 1

    Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

    1.

    the following indent shall be added in point 1k (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2430/1999):

    ‘—

    32007 R 1519: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1519/2007 of 19 December 2007 (OJ L 335, 20.12.2007, p. 15).’;

    2.

    the following shall be added in points 1t (Commission Regulation (EC) No 418/2001) and 37 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 162/2003):

    ‘, as amended by:

    32007 R 1519: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1519/2007 of 19 December 2007 (OJ L 335, 20.12.2007, p. 15).’;

    3.

    the following points shall be inserted after point 1zzzze (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1380/2007):

    ‘1zzzzf.

    32007 R 1500: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1500/2007 of 18 December 2007 of concerning the authorisation of a new use of 6-phytase EC 3.1.3.26 (Ronozyme) as a feed additive (OJ L 333, 19.12.2007, p. 54).

    32007 R 1521: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1521/2007 of 19 December 2007 concerning the authorisation of a new use of Enterococcus faecium DSM 7134 (Bonvital) as a feed additive (OJ L 335, 20.12.2007, p. 24).’

    Article 2

    The texts of Regulations (EC) No 1500/2007, No 1501/2007, No 1519/2007, No 1520/2007 and No 1521/2007 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

    Article 3

    This Decision shall enter into force on 6 February 2009, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).

    Article 4

    This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
