6. Membership of Parliament
Pier Luigi Bersani, Paolo Cirino Pomicino, Massimo D'Alema and Armando Dionisi had notified Parliament that they had been elected to the Italian Parliament and had accepted their national mandates as of 28.04.2006.
As this office was incompatible with that of a Member of the European Parliament under Article 7(2) of the Act concerning the election of representatives of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, Parliament, under Rule 4(4), established the vacancies with effect from 28.04.2006 and informed the Member State concerned thereof.
The Italian authorities had notified Parliament that the following had been designated as Members of the European Parliament with effect from 08.05.2006:

Josep Borrell Fontelles (President) drew attention to the provisions of Rule 3(5).
7. Membership of political groups
Paweł Bartłomiej Piskorski had sat as a non-attached Member as of 01.05.2006.
The co-chairmen of the IND/DEM Group had given notice that Mario Borghezio, Umberto Bossi, Matteo Salvini and Francesco Enrico Speroni were no longer members of that group and had sat as non-attached Members as of 27.04.2006.
8. Request for the defence of parliamentary immunity
Gabriele Albertini had sent the Presidency a request for the defence of his parliamentary immunity in case No 8629/05 R.G., pending before a court in Milan.
Under Rule 6(3), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.
9. Declaration of financial interests
The following Members had not yet submitted a declaration of financial interests for 2005 in accordance with Annex I, Article 2(5) of the Rules of Procedure:

Parliament rejected the request by electronic vote (72 in favour, 102 against, 50 abstentions).
