‘Italy hereby declares that it wishes to avail itself of the opportunity offered by Article 8(3) of Framework Decision 2009/299/JHA (1). As a consequence, the Framework Decision shall apply from 1 January 2014 at the latest to the recognition and enforcement of decisions, rendered in the absence of the person concerned at the trial, which are issued by Italian competent authorities.’
