Legislative resolution embodying Parliament's opinion on the proposal for a Council Decision concluding the Agreement for scientific and technical cooperation between the European Community and the State of Israel (COM(98)0457 - C4-0555/98 - 98/0241(CNS))(Consultation procedure)

The European Parliament,

- having regard to the proposal for a Council Decision, COM(98)0457 - 98/0241(CNS) ((OJ C 283, 12.9.1998, p. 5. )),

- having regard to Article 130u of the EC Treaty,

- having been consulted by the Council pursuant to Article 228 (3), first subparagraph, of the EC Treaty (C4-0555/98),

- having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

- having regard to the report of the Committee on Research, Technological Development and Energy and the opinion of the Committee on Budgets (A4-0035/99),

1. Approves the conclusion of the Agreement;

2. Instructs its President to forward this opinion to the Council and Commission and to the governments and parliament of the Member States and the State of Israel.
