    Call for expressions of interest: independent experts for the safer internet programme (2009-2013)

    (Following Article 179a of the Financial Regulation  (1) and Article 265a of the Implementing Rules  (2))

    Description

    The Commission hereby invites applications from individuals wishing to provide expert assistance relating to the Safer Internet programme (3). The Commission will draw up a list of experts who meet the criteria set out below.

    The objective of the Safer Internet programme is to promote safer use of the internet and other communication technologies, particularly for children, and to fight against illegal content and harmful conduct online.

    Tasks

    The tasks include assistance to the Commission in evaluating proposals submitted in response to calls for proposals, and in reviewing individual Safer Internet projects, as well as legacy projects funded under the Safer Internet plus programme (4).

    Criteria for inclusion on the list and submission of applications

    All applications must comply with the detailed specifications and conditions which are available on the Commission’s above-mentioned internet site in English.

    These include requirements related to nationality, qualifications, experience and language knowledge.

    Submission of applications

    Applications must be submitted by means of the online expert registration tool available at the following website: http://ec.europa.eu/saferinternet

    Expiry date of the list resulting from the call for expression of interest

    The list of experts will be valid until 31 December 2013. Any person interested may submit an application at any time during the period of validity of the list, with the exception of the last three months.
