Information concerning the date of application of Council Regulation (EU) 2015/1861 amending Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 concerning restrictive measures against Iran and Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1862 implementing Regulation (EU) No 267/2012 concerning restrictive measures against Iran

Council Regulation (EU) 2015/1861 (1) and Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1862 (2) entered into force on 19 October 2015.

In accordance with the second subparagraph of Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 2015/1861 and of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1862, respectively, those Regulations shall apply from the date referred to in the second subparagraph of Article 2 of Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/1863 (3), i.e. from the date of application of Decision (CFSP) 2015/1863.

In Decision (CFSP) 2016/37 (4), the Council noted that the condition for the application of Decision (CFSP) 2015/1863 has been met and decided accordingly that Decision (CFSP) 2015/1863 shall apply from 16 January 2016. Consequently, Regulation (EU) 2015/1861 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1862 also apply from 16 January 2016.
