Decision on the draft Council decision on the procedure for implementing Article 366a of the Fourth ACP-EC Convention (5644/98 - C4-0156/98 - 96/0050(AVC))(Assent procedure)

The European Parliament,

- having regard to the draft Council decision, 5644/98 - 96/0050(AVC),

- having regard to the Fourth ACP-EC Convention as revised by the agreement signed in Mauritius on 4 November 1995, in particular Article 366a thereof,

- having regard to the Council¨s request for Parliament¨s assent pursuant to Articles 228(3), second subparagraph, and 238 of the EC Treaty (C4-0156/98),

- having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

- having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on Development and Cooperation (A4-0013/99),

1. Gives its assent to the draft Council decision;

2. Instructs its President to forward this decision to the Council, the Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the signatory states of the Lomé Convention.
