3. Membership of committees and delegations
At the request of the PPE-DE Group, Parliament ratified the following appointment:
Delegation for relations with Iran: Michael Gahler.
4. Verification of credentials
On a proposal from the JURI Committee, Parliament had decided to ratify the mandates of Vincenzo Aita, Antonio De Blasio and Brian Simpson.
The mandates had taken effect on 19.06.2006, 31.07.2006 and 28.08.2006 respectively.
5. Calendar of part-sessions
At its meeting of 21 September 2006, the Conference of Presidents had decided that a part-session would be held on Monday, 18 December 2006 between 11.00 and 13.00.
At that part-session, the Council would inform Parliament of the outcome of the European Council meeting to be held in Brussels on 14 and 15 December 2006 and present the conclusions of the Finnish Presidency.
6. Announcement by the President
The President announced that Toomas Hendrik Ilves had been elected President of the Republic of Estonia on 23 September 2006.
