COUNCIL IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2023/180
of 27 January 2023
implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/2474 amending Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on European Union and in particular Article 29 thereof,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EU) 2022/2474 of 16 December 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine (1), and in particular Article 1(19) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:

On 16 December 2022, the Council adopted Regulation (EU) 2022/2474, which amended Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 (2) and introduced further restrictive measures to suspend the broadcasting activities in the Union, or directed at the Union, of certain media outlets referred to in Annex V to Regulation (EU) 2022/2474. Pursuant to Article 1, point (19), of Regulation (EU) 2022/2474, the applicability of such measures in respect of one or several of those media outlets is subject to the adoption of implementing acts by the Council. |

Having examined the respective cases, the Council has concluded that the restrictive measures referred to in Article 2f of Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 should apply from 1 February 2023 in respect of all entities referred to in Annex V to Regulation (EU) 2022/2474, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
The measures referred to in Article 2f of Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 shall apply from 1 February 2023 in respect of all entities referred to in Annex V to Regulation (EU) 2022/2474.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
