DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 153/2014
of 9 July 2014
amending Annex X (Services in general) to the EEA Agreement [2015/88]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 on the application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Commission Implementing Directive 2012/52/EU of 20 December 2012 laying down measures to facilitate the recognition of medical prescriptions issued in another Member State (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(3) |
Annex X to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following is added after point 1c (Commission Decision 2011/130/EU) of Annex X to the EEA Agreement:

32011 L 0024: Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 on the application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare (OJ L 88, 4.4.2011, p. 45). The provisions of the Directive shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be read with the following adaptations: Without prejudice to future development by the EEA Joint Committee, it should be noted that the following acts are not incorporated into the EEA Agreement:
Therefore all references to these acts shall not apply to the EFTA States. |

Article 2
The texts of Directive 2011/24/EU and Implementing Directive 2012/52/EU in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 10 July 2014, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
