DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 141/2010
of 10 December 2010
amending Annex XVIII (Health and safety at work, labour law, and equal treatment for men and women) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Annex XVIII to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 109/2010 of 1 October 2010 (1). |
|
(2) |
Directive 2009/148/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to asbestos at work (codified version) (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |
|
(3) |
Commission Directive 2009/161/EU of 17 December 2009 establishing a third list of indicative occupational exposure limit values in implementation of Council Directive 98/24/EC and amending Commission Directive 2000/39/EC (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |
|
(4) |
Directive 2009/148/EC repeals Council Directive 83/477/EEC (4), which is incorporated into the Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the Agreement, |
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Annex XVIII to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. |
the text of point 5 (Council Directive 83/477/EEC) shall be replaced by the following: ‘ 32009 L 0148: Directive 2009/148/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to asbestos at work (codified version) (OJ L 330, 16.12.2009, p. 28).’; |

2. |
the following indent shall be added in point 16j (Commission Directive 2000/39/EC):

3. |
the following point shall be inserted after point 16je (Directive 2006/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council):
|
Article 2
The texts of Directives 2009/148/EC and 2009/161/EU in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 11 December 2010, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
