Initiative summary:
Digital transformation creates opportunities, but also brings threats for our economy and society. Despite progress made with the Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems, cybersecurity capabilities in the Member States remain unequal and the level of protection in the EU is insufficient. As announced in the Communication on shaping Europe’s Digital Future, the ongoing review of the Directive will be accelerated to be ready by end 2020 and possibly propose a new legal act.
