- Initiative summary:
- The Modernisation Fund, as revised through the revision of the EU ETS Directive, will provide support to the 13 EU Member States with lower GDP per capita (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia) in modernising their energy systems and improving energy efficiency. The revised fund will be endowed with an additional 2.5% of the overall volume of ETS allowances over 2024-2030.
