A4-0282/97 Draft Council Regulation on the allocation of the financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) within the European system of national and regional accounts (ESA) (COM(97)0050 - C4-0138/97 - 97/0037(CNS)) The proposal was approved with the following amendments: (Amendment 1) Recital 6a (new) >Text following EP vote> Whereas the collection, processing and transmission of data and the evaluation of the method proposed in Annex 3 to the Regulation will require a period of at least four years from the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities; (Amendment 2) Article 6 >Original text> The Member States shall apply the provisions of this Regulation within the context of transmitting to the Commission the tables specified in Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No...../96. >Text following EP vote> 1. During the transitional period, the results of the calculations referred to in Annex 3 to this Regulation shall be transmitted according to the following timetable: - the results for the 1995, 1996 and 1997 calendar years shall be provided for the first time by the end of 1998; - the results for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 calendar years and the revised figures for the results previously provided shall be submitted by the end of the following year. >Text following EP vote> 2. On the basis of these results, the Commission shall draw up an evaluation report no later than the end of June 2001 and shall propose by the end of 2001 the definitive method for allocating FISIM. >Text following EP vote> 3. With effect from 1 January 2002, the Member States shall forward the results of the calculation made according to the definitive method within the context of transmitting to the Commission the tables specified in Article 3 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2223/96 of 25 June 1996 on the system of national and regional accounts in the Community(1). _____________________ (1) OJ L 310, 30.11.1996, p. 1. Legislative resolution embodying Parliament's opinion on the draft Council Regulation on the allocation of the financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) within the European system of national and regional accounts (ESA) (COM(97)0050 - C4-0138/97 - 97/0037(CNS)) (Consultation procedure) The European Parliament, - having regard to the Commission draft, COM(97)0050 - 97/0037(CNS) ((OJ C 124, 21.4.1997, p. 28.)), - having been consulted by the Council pursuant to Article 213 of the EC Treaty (C4-0138/97), - having regard to Rule 58 of its Rules of Procedure, - having regard to the report of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and Industrial Policy (A4-0282/97), 1. Approves the Commission draft, subject to Parliament's amendments; 2. Calls on the Commission to alter its draft accordingly, pursuant to Article 189a(2) of the EC Treaty; 3. Calls on the Council to inform Parliament should it intend to depart from the text prepared by Parliament; 4. Asks to be consulted again should the Council intend to make substantial modifications to the Commission draft; 5. Instructs its President to forward this opinion to the Council and Commission.
