Notice concerning the denunciation of the Agreement between the European Community and the United States of America on the processing and transfer of PNR data by air carriers to the United States Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Customs and Border Protection

(2006/C 219/01)

Following the judgment of the Court of Justice on 30 May 2006 in joined Cases C-317/04 European Parliament v. Council of the European Union and C-318/04 European Parliament v. Commission of the European Communities, the Council and the Commission have notified the US Government on 3 July 2006, in accordance with Point 7 of the Agreement between the European Community and the United States of America on the processing and transfer of PNR data by air carriers to the United States Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (1), that the said Agreement is to be terminated with effect from 30 September 2006.
