Initiative summary:
This initiative aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the aviation sector and enable it to contribute to achieving the EU’s climate targets, by boosting the supply and demand for sustainable aviation fuels in the EU. Indeed, sustainable aviation fuels have the potential to make an important contribution to reducing emissions from aviation. However, to date this potential is largely untapped, as sustainable aviation fuels represent only 0.05% of total jet fuel consumption.
