Subject: Infringement proceedings against Member States

At the end of the last month (October), what was the total number of infringement proceedings initiated by the Commission and outstanding against each Member State? Please give similar figures for the end of the year for the last five years.

The information requested by the Honourable Member concerning outstanding infringement proceedings at the end of each year can be found in the Commission's annual report on monitoring the application of Community law.
