- Initiative summary:
- The Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) aims to: make it easier and safer to use online payment services; better protect payment services users against fraud and abuse; promote innovative payment services; strengthen the rights of payment services users. The Commission is reviewing the application and impact of the Directive, in particular with regard to scope, consumer protection, open banking and access to payment systems. A legislative proposal amending PSD2 is envisaged.
