Initiative summary:
As part of the European Water Resilience Strategy, this Recommendation will operationalise the strong thrust to be given to water efficiency in many policy domains and by all sectors using water. Water is vital for the economy, food, energy and ecosystems services. Access to drinking water is a human right. Reducing water consumption and abstractions through higher efficiency and circularity is thus paramount to safeguard Europe’s water security, wellbeing and competitiveness.
