- Initiative summary:
- The initiative should further improve the efficiency and speed of the service of documents in cross-border judicial procedures, and at the same time better protect the rights of the defence. For that purpose, designated authorities of the Member States should communicate and exchange documents with each other electronically by default, and electronic service of documents across borders should become a reality.
