Initiative summary:
This initiative aims at tackling unintentional microplastic releases to the environment. Labelling, standardisation, certification and regulatory measures for the main sources will be considered. It will improve the science on risks and occurrence in the environment, drinking water and food. It will reduce environmental pollution and potential risks to human health, while respecting the internal market principles and encouraging competitiveness and innovation.
