1. Resumption of the session
The session suspended Thursday 4 October 2018 was resumed.
2. Opening of the sitting
The sitting opened at 17.03.
3. Statements by the President
The President made a statement expressing Parliament's condolences to the families of the victims of the deadly floods that had hit France, Spain and Italy in recent weeks.
He then spoke about the attacks in Afghanistan during the recent elections and expressed Parliament's condolences to the families of those affected by them.
The President marked the anniversary of the death of the Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and confirmed Parliament's commitment to press freedom. He then called for an international investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
4. Approval of the minutes of the previous sitting
The minutes of the previous sitting were approved.

5. Composition of political groups
Sylvie Goddyn had ceased to be a member of the ENF Group and joined the EFDD Group as of 20 October 2018.
6. Verification of credentials
On a proposal from the JURI Committee, Parliament confirmed the validity of the mandate of Stefan Gehrold with effect from 20 September 2018.
7. Request for waiver of immunity
The French authorities had forwarded a request to waive the immunity of Jean-Marie Le Pen in relation to a judicial inquiry opened by the financial crimes division of the Court of First Instance of Paris.
Pursuant to Rule 9(1), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURI Committee.

The first item on the afternoon's agenda, the debate on the question for oral answer O-000119/2018 to the Commission on ‘Fair market for industry’(item 66 on the final draft agenda) would be replaced by a Commission statement with the same title and at the same time.
The House agreed to the proposal.
Monday

Tuesday
Request from the ALDE Group to change the title of the statement by the Vice-President of the Commission and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on the ‘Disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi’(item 107 on the final draft agenda) to ‘Murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul’.

The debate would end with the tabling of motions for resolutions, which would be put to the vote on Thursday.
