- Initiative summary:
- EU rules on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products identifies the destruction of unsold consumer products as an environmental problem. To dis-incentivize this practice, economic operators (except for micro and small enterprises), are required to disclose information on the unsold consumer products that they dispose of. This initiative will specify the product types concerned, the details and format for the disclosure of information, and how such information is to be verified.
