ASSENT No 7/97 given by the Council pursuant to Article 55 (2) (c) of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community enabling the Commission to grant financial aid of ECU 29 000 000 from the levies provided for in Article 50 of that Treaty to 37 technical coal research projects (1997) (97/C 227/08) The aid is broken down as follows: - Community coal research programme: ECU 28 704 452, - dissemination of knowledge and related costs: ECU 295 548. By letter dated 18 April 1997 the Commission of the European Communities requested the assent of the Council of the European Union pursuant to Article 55 (2) (c) of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community to the granting of financial aid amounting to ECU 29 000 000 to 37 technical coal research projects (1997). At its 2016th meeting on 17 and 18 June 1997 the Council gave the assent requested by the Commission. For the Council The President A. JORRITSMA-LEBBINK
