Initiative summary:
In 2015, an ecodesign measure on local space heaters had set minimum energy efficiency requirements, taking effect in 2018. In addition, the EU adopted an energy labelling measure regarding the information to consumers on the energy performance and other environmental parameters of local space heaters in the EU market. Both have led to substantial energy savings for end-users. The EU is now reviewing the ecodesign measure in light of technological progress and circular economy objectives.
