Initiative summary:
All the tobacco products other than cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco are exempted from the prohibitions of having a characterising flavour or containing flavourings. On the basis of an increase of the sales volumes of heated tobacco products, this initiative will remove that exemption for heated tobacco products. On the same grounds, this initiative will also remove the Member States’ possibility of granting exemptions to heated tobacco products from certain labelling requirements.
