COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2024/381
of 22 January 2024
amending Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111 in support of SEESAC disarmament and arms control activities in South-East Europe reducing the threat of illicit small arms and light weapons and their ammunition
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Articles 28(1) and 31(1) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas

On 9 December 2019, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111 (1), which provided for a 48-month project-implementation period commencing on the date of the conclusion of the agreement referred to in Article 3(4) of that Decision. The date of commencement of the implementation period was therefore 1 February 2020. |

On 6 December 2023, the United Nations Development Programme on behalf of the South-Eastern and Eastern Europe Clearinghouse for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SEESAC), which is responsible for the technical implementation of the project referred to in Article 2 of Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111, requested an extension of the implementation period until 31 December 2024. |

The extension of the implementation period for the project referred to in Article 1 of Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111 until 31 December 2024 does not have any implications for the financial resources of the Union. |

Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111 should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
In Article 5 of Council Decision (CFSP) 2019/2111, paragraph 2 is replaced by the following:
‘2. This Decision shall expire on 31 December 2024.’.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
