Amended proposal for a Council Directive fixing the principles governing the organization of inspections in the field of animal nutrition (1) (94/C 242/07) (Text with EEA relevance) COM(94) 371 final

(Submitted by the Commission pursuant to Article 189a (2) of the EC Treaty on 3 August 1994)

As a result of the opinion delivered by the European Parliament at its plenary session of 18 to 22 April 1994 on the proposal for a Council Directive presented on 22 October 1993 fixing the principles governing the organization of inspections in the field of animal nutrition, the Commission decided, pursuant to Article 189a (2) of the EC Treaty, to amend its original proposal as follows:

1. the following recital is inserted after the 14th:

'Whereas, in accordance with Council Directive 70/373/EEC (1), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 3768/85 (2), all methods of sampling and methods of analysis necessary for carrying out the official checks on feedingstuffs should be adopted at Community level;

3. in Article 5 the third indent is replaced by the following:

'- their geographical destination in order to ascertain whether the goods are in transit or really are being imported into the customs territory of the Member States of the European Union.`;

4. in Article 6 (1) the term 'physical control` is replaced by 'quality control`.

5. in Article 7 (2) the term 'physical control` is replaced by 'quality control`.
