A.   Letter from the European Community

Sir,

With reference to the Agreement on the participation of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania in the European Economic Area (EEA Enlargement Agreement) and four related agreements, I have the honour to inform you that the European Community is prepared to apply the EEA Enlargement Agreement and the Additional Protocol to the Agreement between the European Economic Community and Iceland consequent on the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union, on a provisional basis, from the first day of the first month for the former agreement and from the first day of the second month for the latter agreement following the date on which the last of the Exchanges of Letters on provisional application between the European Community and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway has been completed, provided that Iceland is disposed to do the same.

I should be obliged if you could confirm Iceland's agreement to the content of this letter.
