DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 243/2022
of 23 September 2022
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) and Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2023/772]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Directive (EU) 2018/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018 amending Directives 2000/53/EC on end-of-life vehicles, 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators, and 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Annexes II and XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 9e (Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XVII: ‘, as amended by:
|

The following indent is added in point 12x (Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XV:

Article 2
Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 32e (Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council):

The following is added in point 32fa (Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council): ‘, as amended by:

Article 3
The text of Directive (EU) 2018/849 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 4
This Decision shall enter into force on 24 September 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*).
Article 5
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
