DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 29/2021

of 5 February 2021

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2024/34]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1413 of 29 June 2020 correcting the Swedish language version of Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1435 of 9 October 2020 on the duties placed on registrants to update their registrations under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter XV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

The following indent is added in point 12zze (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘-

32020 R 1413: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1413 of 29 June 2020 (OJ L 326, 8.10.2020, p. 1).’

2.

The following point is inserted after point 12zzzzzzk (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/27):

 

‘12zzzzzzl. 32020 R 1435: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1435 of 9 October 2020 on the duties placed on registrants to update their registrations under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) (OJ L 331, 12.10.2020, p. 24).’

Article 2

The texts of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1413 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1435 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 6 February 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
