Initiative summary:
The Waste Framework Directive protects human health and the environment through the proper management of waste, in line with the waste hierarchy. This revision of the Directive will improve waste management in line with the waste hierarchy through measures to promote re-use of products, reduce waste generation, reduce mixed waste and increase preparation for re-use or recycling of waste through better EU separate collection.
