laying down the reduced agricultural components and additional duties applicable from 1 July 2000 to the importation into the Community of goods covered by Council Regulation (EC) No 3448/93 under Europe Agreements

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 3448/93 of 6 December 1993 laying down the trade arrangements applicable to certain goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products(1), as last amended by Regulation (EC) No 2491/98(2), and in particular Article 7 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to Council Regulation (EC) No 27/1999 of 21 December 1998 adopting autonomous and transitional measures for the preferential trade agreements with Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria in certain processed agricultural products(3) lays down the basic amounts to be taken into consideration in calculating the reduced agricultural components applicable on importation from, inter alia, Poland from 1 July 2000.

(2) The duties resulting from those measures may not exceed those applicable under the Common Customs Tariff.

(3) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1460/96(4), as amended by Regulation (EC) No 2495/97(5), establishes the detailed rules for implementing the preferential trade arrangements applicable to certain goods resulting from the processing of agricultural products, as provided for in Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No 3448/93,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

This Regulation lays down the reduced agricultural components applicable, from 1 July 2000, to imports of goods covered by Regulation (EC) No 3448/93, for which a reduction in the agricultural component is provided for by the preferential agreements concluded with the countries concerned, and the corresponding reduced additional duties.

Article 2

The amounts indicated in Annexes I and II shall be applicable to imports from the Republic of Poland under the conditions laid down pursuant to Protocol 3 of the Agreement on trade and trade-related measures concluded with the Republic of Poland.

Article 3

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

It shall apply from 1 July 2000.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
