- Initiative summary:
- Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 implements the commitments of the Union under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. PFOS and its derivatives are listed in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019/1021. This act will reduce the PFOS concentration allowed to be present as unintentional trace contaminant in substances, mixtures and articles and will remove the last specific exemption that has been allowed in the EU since it is no longer needed.
