COUNCIL DECISION (EU) 2026/125

of 8 December 2025

on the conclusion of the Agreement on Digital Trade between the European Union and the Republic of Singapore

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 207(4), first subparagraph, in conjunction with Article 218(6)(a) thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the European Commission,

Having regard to the consent of the European Parliament,

Whereas:

(1)

In accordance with Council Decision (EU) 2025/798 (1) the Agreement on Digital Trade between the European Union and the Republic of Singapore (the ‘Agreement’) was signed on 7 May 2025, subject to its conclusion at a later date.

(2)

The Agreement should be approved on behalf of the European Union.

(3)

The European Data Protection Supervisor was consulted in accordance with Article 42(1) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2) and delivered an opinion on 21 March 2025,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The Agreement on Digital Trade between the European Union and the Republic of Singapore (3) is hereby approved on behalf of the Union.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption (4).
