DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 73/2007
of 6 July 2007
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 46/2007 of 8 June 2007 (1). |
|
(2) |
Commission Regulation (EC) No 1168/2006 of 31 July 2006 implementing Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 as regards a Community target for the reduction of the prevalence of certain salmonella serotypes in laying hens of Gallus gallus and amending Regulation (EC) No 1003/2005 (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |

(3) |
Commission Regulation (EC) No 1177/2006 of 1 August 2006 implementing Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards requirements for the use of specific control methods in the framework of the national programmes for the control of salmonella in poultry (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |

(4) |
Commission Decision 2006/615/EC of 13 September 2006 granting temporary approval for the systems for the identification and registration of ovine and caprine animals in the United Kingdom in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 21/2004 (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |
|
(5) |
Commission Regulation (EC) No 1505/2006 of 11 October 2006 implementing Council Regulation (EC) No 21/2004 as regards the minimum level of checks to be carried out in relation to the identification and registration of ovine and caprine animals (5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |
|
(6) |
Commission Decision 2006/759/EC of 8 November 2006 approving certain national programmes for the control of salmonella in breeding flocks of Gallus gallus (6) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. |
|
(7) |
This Decision is not to apply to Iceland and Liechtenstein, |
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. |
the following point shall be inserted after point 130 (Commission Decision 2005/92/EC) in Part 1.2:
|
|
2. |
under the heading ‘ACTS OF WHICH THE EFTA STATES AND THE EFTA SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY SHALL TAKE DUE ACCOUNT’, the following point shall be inserted after point 22 (Commission Decision 2006/80/EC) in Part 1.2:
|
|
3. |
the following points shall be inserted after point 27 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 546/2006) in Part 7.2:
|
|
4. |
under the heading ‘ACTS OF WHICH THE EFTA STATES AND THE EFTA SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY SHALL TAKE DUE ACCOUNT’, the following point shall be inserted after point 4c (Commission Decision 2001/738/EC) in Part 7.2:

5. |
the following shall be added in point 25 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1003/2005) in Part 7.2: ‘, as amended by:
|
Article 2
The texts of Regulations (EC) No 1168/2006, (EC) No 1177/2006 and (EC) No 1505/2006 and Decisions 2006/615/EC and 2006/759/EC in the Norwegian language, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 7 July 2007, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
