COMMISSION DECISION of 13 January 1993 granting the Italian Republic a partial derogation on the submission of data on the landings of fishery products as required by Council Regulation (EEC) No 1382/91 (Only the Italian text is authentic)

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1382/91 of 21 May 1991 on the submission of data on the landings of fishery products in the Member States (1), and in particular Article 5 (3) and (4) thereof,

Whereas the existing programme of fishery statistics in Italy requires modification in order to fully meet the provisions of the abovementioned Regulation;

Whereas the collection of data on the landings of fishery products by more than 20 000 fishing vessels in the numerous ports and landing places along the 8 000 km of Italian coastline imposes particular difficulties in establishing the modified statistical system;

Whereas the Italian Republic has requested a partial derogation from the provisions of the abovementioned Regulation;

Whereas the measures foreseen by the present Decision conform to the opinion of the Standing Committee for Agricultural Statistics,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

By way of derogation from Article 3 (1) of Council Regulation (EEC) No 1382/91, the Italian Republic shall submit the data on the items indicated in Annex I to this Decision.

Article 2

The derogation referred to in Article 1 is granted for the data relating to the period ending on 31 December 1994.

Article 3

The Decision is addressed to the Italian Republic.
