RECRUITMENT FOR THE EUROPEAN MEDICINES AGENCY (LONDON)

(2005/C 76 A/01)

The Agency is responsible for coordinating the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products for human and veterinary use in the European Union (see European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 of 31 March 2004, Official Journal of the European Union No L 136 of 30 April 2004). The EMEA was established in January 1995. It has many close contacts with the European Commission, 25 EU Member States, EEA-EFTA countries and many other groups in government and the private sector.

Selected candidates will be included on a reserve list and, depending on the budgetary situation, may be offered a five-year renewable contract in accordance with the Conditions of employment of other servants of the European Communities (Official Journal of the European Communities No L  56 of 4 March 1968) (1).

The place of employment shall be London.

Candidates must be nationals of a Member State of the European Communities, or of Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein, on condition that they have full rights as a citizen.

(1)  The Council has adopted new Staff Regulations which entered into force on 1 May 2004. These Regulations include a new career structure. Successful candidates would therefore be recruited on the basis of the new Staff Regulations, in accordance with the arrangements set out, in particular, in Article 12 of Section 2 of Annex XIII (see the IntraComm website: http://www.europa.eu.int).
