- Initiative summary:
- The initiative aims to set out a strategy to steer and promote the energy transition of the EU's fisheries and aquaculture sector. Extensive dependence on fossil fuel risks the long-term social, economic and environmental sustainability and resilience of the sector and contributes to climate change. It builds up the momentum to accelerate a transition and start moving away from fossil fuels in line with the Green Deal objectives for climate neutrality, biodiversity and resource efficiency.
