- The European Green Deal recognises the need to put in place an enabling framework that benefits all Member States to ensure a a fair transition to a climate neutral economy.The revision of Energy Tax Directive forms part of a group of policy reforms integrated in the Green Deal,such as effective carbon pricing and removing fossil fuel subsidies to deliver on the increased ambition for 2030.Its review,focussing on environmental issues, will ensure that taxation is aligned with climate objectives.
