Official Journal C 102 , 03/04/1998 P. 0060
WRITTEN QUESTION E-2569/97 by Glyn Ford (PSE) to the Council (28 July 1997) Subject: Asylum protocol Would the protocol which restricts EU citizen's access to apply for asylum in other EU countries, adopted at the Amsterdam Summit, be suspended if a Member State's respect for human rights was brought into question? Joint answer to Written Questions E-2568/97 and E-2569/97 (7 November 1997) The Council considers it inappropriate at this stage to interpret the protocol in question, given that the Treaty of which the protocol forms part has not yet entered into force.
