Summary

A preferential tariff system for supplies of natural gas applied by a Member State in favour of very large industrial users all of which, with one exception only, are in a single industry constitutes a State aid in so far as the price reductions granted manifestly do not correspond to the savings achieved on the cost of supplies . The fact that one undertaking is not in the industry in question does not undermine the finding that it is for that industry that the tariff in question is essentially intended .
