Title: Quality program and quality label "Certified quality with indication of origin"

Objective: promotion of quality products. The aid measure would provide aid towards a quality label Baden-Württemberg (/Qualitätszeichen Baden-Württemberg, hereinafter: the label). The label is open for use by all regions or Member States of the EU. The main message of the label is the quality of the product. The label would only be granted to products would also have to satisfy certain quality criteria as well as criteria relating to the geographical origin of a product. Quality controls, consumer information and advertising may receive support under the notified aid program. The label and products bearing it would be advertised by the means of leaflets and advertisements in the printed media

Legal basis: Haushaltsgesetz des Landes Baden-Württemberg; Landwirtschaft- und Landeskulturgesetz Baden-Württemberg sowie Vollzugshinweise

Budget: Between EUR 1,6 and 1,9 mio in 2003-2006.

Aid intensity or amount: Quality controls would receive an initial aid of 80 %, which would be degressively abolished by the end of 2008. For consumer information the aid may be up to 100 % of the documented costs and is limited to EUR 100000 per beneficiary. For advertising campaigns the aid rate is 50 % and the sector has to contribute the rest of the advertising costs
