Initiative summary:
Regulation (EU) 2019/452 sets out the EU framework for the screening of FDI into the EU. These rules aim to improve the EU’s capacity to identify and address potential risks for security or public order deriving from certain transactions. This initiative aims to ensure that this framework remains fit for purpose in a changing global security context. The Commission will propose a revision of the rules while the framework remains exclusively focused on security and public order.
