Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)

1.   Objectives and description

This call for proposals is based on the decision establishing the Lifelong Learning Programme which was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 15 November 2006 (Decision No 1720/2006/EC) (1). The programme covers the 2007 to 2013 period. The specific objectives of the Lifelong Learning Programme are listed in Article 1.3 of the Decision.

2.   Eligibility

The Lifelong Learning Programme applies to all types and levels of education and vocational education and training and it is accessible to all the entities listed in Article 4 of the Decision.

Applicants must be established in one of the following countries (2):

the 27 Member States of the European Union,

the EEA/EFTA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland,

candidate countries: Croatia, Turkey.

In compliance with Article 14(2) of the Decision establishing the LLP, multilateral projects and networks under Comenius, Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig and the key activities of the Transversal programme are also open to partners from third countries which do not already participate in the Lifelong Learning Programme on the basis of Article 7 of the Decision. Please refer to the LLP Guide 2012 for the details of the actions concerned and the modalities of participation.

3.   Budget and duration of projects

The total budget earmarked for this call is estimated at EUR 1 140 million.

The level of grants awarded as well as the duration of projects vary depending on factors such as the type of project and the number of countries involved.
