Annual expenditure planned under the scheme: EUR 37 million from the National Guarantee Fund for Agricultural Disasters (FNGCA)
Maximum aid intensity: 35 %, from the FNGCA, of the premium or contribution invoiced to the insured party, net of tax, for eligible cover.
The extent of eligible cover is determined on the basis of a minimum excess of 25 % for single crop insurance, and 20 % for insurance covering the entire production of the farm.
For instance, for contracts with an excess higher than or equal to the minimum level, the eligible cover is the actual cover set out in the contract, and the amount of the eligible premium is the amount of the net premium invoiced to the insured party.
In the case of contracts with an excess lower than the minimum level, the amount of the eligible premium is limited to the amount of the net premium invoiced to the insured party, which relates only to the eligible cover defined above.
The FNGCA aid amounting to 35 % will be increased by 5 % for young farmers who have been established for less than five years.
Where there is a cumulation of aid from the Fund and from a regional authority, the total aid must not in any case exceed 50 % of the amount of the premium or contribution

Objective of aid: To promote the spread of insurance against various agricultural risks. The insurance premiums for which aid is granted are those referred to in Article 12 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006

Objective of aid: Under the terms of Article 15 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006, the aid will serve to provide ongoing training for farmers and those working alongside them. The following kinds of training are involved:
training for the purposes of achieving authorisation for the purchase and use of plant protection products,
training leading to the award of a trade qualification or certificate of competency as referred to in current legislation and for which the training element or skills updating element is of prime importance,
training to update or perfect subject-knowledge,
training with a view to acquiring sufficient ‘professional abilities’ as referred to in Community legislation and/or the certification referred to in Legislative Decree No 99/2004 (professional farmer)

Legal basis: The Animal By-Products Regulations Northern Ireland 2003 (SR 2003 No 495) and Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002 laying down health rules concerning animal by-products not intended for human consumption requires Member States to ensure adequate arrangements are in place to enable aborted material to be disposed of in accordance with those Regulations
Annual expenditure planned under the scheme: GBP 0,05 million
Maximum aid intensity: The aid intensity for transport costs of having aborted material collected from holdings by an approved contractor is up to 100 % in accordance with Article 16(d) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006.
The aid intensity for the disposal costs of rendering or incineration of aborted material by an approved contractor is up to 75 % in accordance with Article 16(d) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006

Duration of scheme or individual aid award: The scheme will close on 29 March 2009 or when the budget has been exhausted, whichever occurs first
