DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 16/2014
of 14 February 2014
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Council Directive 86/529/EEC (1), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement, expired on 31 December 1991 and consequently the reference thereto should be deleted from the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Commission Decisions 96/630/EC (2) and 97/526/EC (3) were repealed by Decision 98/574/EC (4), which are all incorporated into the EEA Agreement, and consequently the references to Decisions 96/630/EC and 97/526/EC should be deleted from the EEA Agreement. |

(3) |
Commission Decision 97/528/EC (5) was repealed by Decision 98/575/EC (6), which are both incorporated into the EEA Agreement, and consequently the reference to Decision 97/528/EC should be deleted from the EEA Agreement. |

(4) |
Commission Decision 2000/638/EC (7) was repealed by Decision 2004/71/EC (8), which are both incorporated into the EEA Agreement, and consequently the reference to Decision 2000/638/EC should be deleted from the EEA Agreement. |

(5) |
Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The texts of points 1 (Council Directive 86/529/EEC), 4o (Commission Decision 96/630/EC), 4u (Commission Decision 97/526/EC), 4w (Commission Decision 97/528/EC) and of the second indent in point 4zg (Commission Decision 2000/638/EC) of Chapter XVIII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement are deleted.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on 15 February 2014, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 3
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
